You don’t have to keep carrying it all

Trauma therapy and EMDR in Houston, Texas.

Maybe you've spent years holding everything together. You're capable, responsible, and accustomed to being the person everyone else depends on. But underneath it all, you're exhausted.

Maybe something happened that changed how you see yourself, your relationships, or the world around you. Or maybe you're struggling to understand why things that happened years ago still affect you today.

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

At Therapy HTX, we provide thoughtful, evidence-based therapy to help you understand what you're experiencing, work through what's keeping you stuck, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

YOU CAN BE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT AND STILL NOT FEEL OK

Sometimes the hardest struggles are the ones other people can't see.

You might find yourself overthinking conversations, feeling responsible for everyone else's emotions, or reacting more strongly than you'd like. You may have trouble setting boundaries, trusting yourself, or feeling fully present in your relationships.

Perhaps you've tried to move past difficult experiences, but certain memories, feelings, or situations continue to bring you right back.

You don't need to wait until things get worse to seek support. And you don't need to have the perfect explanation for why you're struggling.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and begin making meaningful changes.

THERAPY THAT GOES BEYOND SIMPLY TALKING ABOUT WHAT’S WRONG

Our experiences shape the way we think, feel, connect, and respond to the world. Meaningful change often involves understanding those patterns and learning how to respond differently.

Anxiety, Stress & Emotional Regulation

When your mind won't slow down, you're constantly overthinking, or everyday responsibilities start to feel overwhelming, even the simplest things can become exhausting.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, difficult emotions, or a stressful season of life, therapy can help you better understand your patterns and develop practical ways to manage them.

I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help you manage emotions, tolerate distress, communicate effectively, and navigate challenges with greater confidence.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma doesn't always look the way people expect. Sometimes it stems from a single experience; other times, it's the result of things that happened repeatedly over time. Its effects can show up in relationships, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and everyday life.

Together, we'll work to understand how those experiences may still be affecting you, process what you've been through, and help you develop a greater sense of safety, stability, and control.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based treatment that helps people process distressing experiences and reduce the ways those experiences continue to affect their lives.

EMDR isn't just for people who have experienced significant trauma. It can also be helpful for certain anxiety-related concerns, negative beliefs about yourself, and experiences that leave you feeling stuck.

Rather than simply talking through what happened, EMDR helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.

Relationships & Family Challenges

Relationships can be a source of tremendous connection and tremendous stress. Whether you're navigating communication difficulties, recurring conflict, family dynamics, or challenges with boundaries, you don't have to figure everything out on your own.

I help individuals, couples, and families explore longstanding patterns, better understand themselves and one another, and build healthier, more fulfilling connections.

EXPERIENCED CARE. GENUINE CONNECTION. MEANINGFUL CHANGE.

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

Maybe you're struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, navigating a major life change, or finding yourself stuck in patterns you can't quite figure out. Maybe you're working through painful experiences from your past. Or maybe you just know something isn't feeling right, even if you can't put your finger on why.

Whatever brings you here, you deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported.

I've spent more than a decade helping people navigate everything from everyday challenges to complex trauma. My experience includes developing and directing trauma treatment programs, supervising other clinicians, and working with survivors of human trafficking, childhood sexual abuse, combat-related trauma, and profound loss.

That depth of experience shapes how I approach therapy, but it doesn't mean your struggles have to be extraordinary to matter. Everyone deserves to be heard.

Whether you're navigating everyday stress or healing from something life-changing, I'm here to help you move forward.
